  • The wedding is in the Central Business District, which is highly walkable from the hotel blocks. There is no shuttle or parking at the venue.

We encourage guests to walk, take rideshares or cabs, or use public transit rather than renting a car for the weekend, as parking in the Central Business District and the French Quarter can be pricey and hard to find.

  • Wedding

Wedding dress code is formal: suits of any color, longer dresses, and/or jumpsuits. We’re excited for the chance to dress up with you! New Orleans is known for its fun flare, so if you want to wear colors or patterns that stand out, now is your chance! Bob wants you to know that he will be wearing a tux if you care to join him.

Here are some details to help you plan:

    • Plan for heat & humidity: Comfort is important in the heat down here, and you should anticipate being outside for 2 hours in the afternoon 3:30 - 5:30pm. We recognize that it is tricky with a formal dress code.

      • The Ceremony will be outside in the courtyard around 3:30pm which is the hottest part of the day. We have secured some shade for guests to minimize the sun before and during the ceremony.

      • Cocktail hour will also take place in the courtyard where the ceremony occurs, with some shade via umbrellas.

    • Be ready to walk & dance outside for the Second Line: Following the ceremony will be a Second Line Parade which will require walking or riding outside for approximately 20-25 minutes. Consider footwear you can walk and dance in easily.

    Friday Night Welcome Drinks

We love an excuse to dress up, especially when we head to the French Quarter.

The attire is casual cocktail: midis, jumpsuits, dressy separates, jackets, dress shirts.

No need to wear a tie.  Please no jeans or shorts.

    Around New Orleans

New Orleans in general is a casual town, so we recommend dressing for the weather, activities and comfort.

Some of the city’s nicest restaurants do have dress codes, so check their websites in advance if you make reservations.

  • October average high ranges in New Orleans are between 75 - 85.

So although October is fall, plan for summer weather. It’s also technically still hurricane season, which means high humidity and chance of daily thunderstorms.

  • We will be phone and camera free during the ceremony. Our photographers are pros and they will share everything they capture.

We encourage you to take photos and videos and share them with us during all other parts of the weekend!

  • Welcome the the Krewe of Paynes!

The term Krewe is the name used for the groups that organize the Carnival season leading up to Mardi Grad. It’s a playful spelling of “crew.”

Mardi Gras is our favorite season, and we are excited to have you join our Krewe!

  • At our wedding, the second line will be a marching parade through the neighborhood around the Board of Trade led by a local brass band. Expect to walk and dance for about 20-25 minutes!

A Second Line is a traditional, celebratory brass band parade with deep roots in New Orleans culture. The “first line” is the brass band, and the “second line” is the crowd of revelers following behind.

  • We recommend:

    • Rideshare to and from the airports.

    • Walking to the venue if you are staying in the CBD, or using Rideshare from a different neighborhood

    • Transportation will be provided from the venue to the after party.

  • The Board of Trade is a fully accessible venue with an easy to use ramp leading directly into the main reception.

Additional microphones, amplifiers and an audio specialist have been reserved to support with audio during the outdoor service.

Pedi cabs will be provided for the Second Line for those who need or wish to ride to enjoy the party and dancing!

If you anticipate accessibility needs during the wedding itself, please reach out directly to us at BobLovesEmma2026@gmail.com.

  • Dinner will be family style, and we want to meet your dietary restricitions.

In the RSVP, please indicate so that we can message to the caterers.

  • Of course there is!

We’ve been excited to plan some very intentional musical experiences throughout the day, and the after party is where the DJ set begins.

We will provide transportation to the After Party at Barrel Proof from the Board of Trade.

Guests will need to find their own transportation home.
